RERA Act mandates the registration of real estate projects and real estate agents who intend to sell any plot, apartment or building, with the Real Estate Regulatory Authority. By this, the public disclosure of details like layout plan, plan of development works, land status, status of the statutory approvals, disclosure of pro-forma agreements, disclosure of names and addresses of real estate agents, contractors, architects, structural engineers etc, has been made imperative. The act empowers the buyers with right to obtain stage-wise time schedule of the project, claim possession as per promoter’s declaration and Obtain refund with interest for default by the promoter. The act commands the buyers to make payments and fulfil responsibilities as per the agreement.
